I believe I may have arrived at the school the same time as these guys.I never thought of it as a "hole" I spent six years there and have many happy memories of the school, I found the staff very kind, my cottage mother at one point was Mrs. Armstrong (no relation) we had lots to do. Army cadets with camps away, later reserve army in Duncan, theatre sports, swimming, woodworking, never a dull moment, probably some of the happiest years of my life. Although I never achieved great things some of the boys went on to make careers for themselves.
